Believe it or not this is my favourite restaurant in the world. Located on the trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, Gjelina is an iconic L.A spot known for its rustic seasonal menu and wood-fired pizzas. With its chic, buzzing vibe and focus on fresh, local ingredients, its a must.
Owned by Chef Nozawa and his team, Sugarfish is a sushi chain like no other. In my opinion, it’s the best Japanese restaurant, simple, reasonably priced and unbelievably delicious. Chef Nozawa’s mission was to 'bring traditional Japanese sushi to America' and he’s nailed it, sourcing the finest ingredients. I prefer it to many of the Japanese restaurants I’ve tried in Japan. Click the link to find a location near you, they have several to choose from!
Also my favourites are the tuna sashimi, salmon cut roll and the Hokkaido sea scallops.
Tsujita Annex is a ramen lover’s dream. Known for its rich, flavourful broth and perfectly chewy noodles, this spot specialises in Tsukemen (dipping ramen) that’s both comforting and indulgent. Even Japanese visting from Japan say it's the best Ramen in the world! Don't miss out!
Hi-Ho Cheeseburger is celebrated for its no-frills approach to burgers. Their signature patties, made from 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef, are juicy, freaking tasty and paired with perfectly soft buns. With a focus on quality ingredients and classic simplicity, Hi-Ho delivers one of the best burger experiences in the city. With it's hand cut fries and that banana pie!!!
Petit Trois, a charming French bistro located near Melrose Avenue, offers a slice of Paris in the heart of the city. Known for its cozy, intimate vibe and classic French dishes like buttery escargot, rich omelettes and steak frites, it’s the perfect spot for an indulgent meal.
I was blown away when I discovered Pine & Crane, a beloved Taiwanese restaurant located in Silverlake and Downtown L.A. Its known for its fresh, yummy dishes and modern approach to classic comfort food. It serves up favourites like beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes and three-cup chicken, all made with locally sourced ingredients.
Ospi, located around the corner of Venice Beach, feels like an Italian culinary factory. This spacious restaurant specialises in homemade pasta and wood-fired pizzas that are absolutely delicious. The food is bursting with flavour and the vibrant atmosphere makes every visit a fun and memorable experience!
Clark Street Diner offers a modern twist on classic diner fare. Known for its freshly baked bread and comforting dishes like pancakes and patty melts, the diner’s nostalgic vibe makes you feel like you're in a movie. It’s the perfect spot for an elevated, timeless brunch.
You can’t leave Los Angeles without experiencing a real Korean BBQ and Baekjeong takes you straight to Korea. Surrounded by locals, lively K-pop music and crazy TV shows on the walls, it’s an immersive experience. Order one of the set menus, packed with amazing cuts of meat to cook on the grill, along with delicious veggies on the side. Pair it with a cold beer, and you’re in for a fun, unforgettable time!
Jon & Vinny's has three locations but my favourite is the Brentwood spot. If you arrive early for your reservation, you can enjoy a fantastic wine tasting in their cellar before your meal. Then, indulge in some of the best pizza and pasta in town; the cacio e pepe is an absolute must!
